About This Grant:
PCHC primary care providers will increase early detection and cancer screenings, as well as improve patient outcomes, by utilizing eConsult services when they encounter a complex dermatology issue and require a dermatologist’s special expertise. Utilizing eConsult services first, rather than immediate referral to a local dermatologist, will decrease the cost of care and the likelihood of patient noshows/cancellations due to inability to pay. PCHC will attempt to bill patient insurance for the eConsult service, but if it is not covered (or only partially covered) then the grant funds will pay for the remainder of the cost, until grant funds are depleted. To ensure sustainability once grant funds are spent, PCHC will work with insurance companies and our ACO to encourage reimbursement for this valuable service in the future.
