Improving Cervical Cancer Screening in Primary Care

About This Grant:

PCHC proposes a project to improve cervical cancer prevention and screening activities within our primary care practices by assigning provider champions. The champions will advocate within our practices for the need to do Pap tests in the primary care setting, will act as teachers to their peers, coaches to peers with particularly low Pap rates, and will perform Paps for patients with male providers who request female-only screenings. In addition, Quality Team staff will complete activities to identify patients due or overdue for screening, update records, and assist patients in any barriers they are experiencing to obtaining screening and care.
