About This Grant:
Penobscot Community Health Center (PCHC) is seeking to improve breast cancer detection and screening rates within their primary care practices by assigning quality control specialists to help identify patients that are due or overdue for breast cancer screenings while providing outreach, reminders, and assisting patients with any barriers they may be experiencing that prevent them from obtaining cancer screenings and care. Additionally, this project will also include educating patients and PCHC staff on the importance of cancer screenings as well as reminders to providers to order mammograms for those that are due for them. The ultimate goal of this project is a reduction in barriers that patients experience to getting screened, an increased awareness among staff and patients and an improvement in overall screening rates.
