Project ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) is a telementoring program that uses a hub and spoke model to move knowledge, and not people. It uses technology to bring people together, regardless of where they live, through a virtual platform. The ECHO model promotes case-based learning and best practices enabling participants to enhance their knowledge, skills, and self-efficacy to get their patients care when they need it and where they need it.
How Does it Work?
Each TeleECHO session includes a didactic presentation on that session’s topic, followed by a case study, where the expert presenter helps identify solutions to the challenges presented. Everyone participating has the opportunity to ask questions, provide answers, and engage in dialogue to increase their own knowledge and skillset.
