About This Grant:
In this two year project, Healthy Acadia staff will complete training to become tobacco treatment providers and offer evidence-based tobacco cessation services for adults across the Downeast Public Health District (including Hancock and Washington counties) in a variety of formats, including one-on-one counseling, group sessions, and weekly drop-in groups. We will work with partners, such as healthcare professionals, schools, colleges, worksites, municipalities, food pantries and meal sites, and veterans' groups, to raise awareness about the program, identify locations where there are gaps in cessation services, and engage participants.
