About This Grant:
Northern Light EMMC is a medical organization serving approximately 520,000 patients in communities throughout eastern, central, and northern Maine.
This grant will support transportation and lodging assistance for patients travelling from rural areas of the participating counties for cancer care. and will continue to strengthen internal controls and build capacity among seven Northern Light Health member hospitals to provide coordinated transportation and lodging assistance to patients. These hospitals are: EMMC, C.A. Dean Hospital (CAD), Mayo Hospital (Mayo), Sebasticook Valley Health (SVH), Maine Coast Hospital (MCH), Blue Hill Hospital (BHH), and Inland Hospital (Inland).
This project will establish a better understanding of baseline patient assistance needs across these seven member hospitals, allow for more accurate budgeting processes, and provide a stable funding source for patient assistance needs across all participating member organizations through grant support.
