Preventing Secondary Cancers Related to Tobacco Use

About This Grant:

This project aims to prevent secondary cancers related to tobacco use by integrating and standardizing tobacco screening, referral workflows, and treatment access for patients at the Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care. Guided by the forthcoming Commission on Cancer Tobacco Standard, planned activities include offering Freedom from Smoking classes at the new Shuman Center for Hope and Healing, providing on-site health coaching with certified tobacco specialists, and training Nurse Navigators in essential tobacco cessation skills through the Center for Tobacco Independence.
