About This Grant:
Bangor Public Health and Community Services will plan and implement no-cost, tobacco treatment and education services to support patients and employees of Penobscot Community Health Care (PCHC) at PCHC health care practices in Bangor, Brewer, and Old Town. Initially, the project will involve working with PCHC clinical leadership to develop processes, procedures, and strategies that support the provision of treatment programs for patients and employees age 18 and older. The Bangor Public Health and Community Services tobacco treatment programs will be facilitated by a three-person tobacco treatment team that includes a nationally Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist and two employees working on certification, and will include individual, intensive tobacco treatment services and an ongoing, tobacco cessation support group.
