About This Grant:
Maine Public Health Association will conduct polling and message testing about evidence-based tobacco control policies (e.g. tobacco taxes, smoke-free laws) and CDC-recommended funding levels and expenditures for the state tobacco control program (e.g. support for use of tobacco tax revenue, source of tobacco control program funding, and uses of other revenue and funding). Message testing assessments will be 4 focus groups (2 rural/2 urban) and a survey/poll of Mainers who reflect the state’s demographic distribution. If funding allows, greater geographic (and other demographic) variation will be used to assess categorical differences in opinion.
