New Mainer Focused Tobacco Interventions

About This Grant:

Through this grant we will build capacity with an area ethnic based community education and advocacy organization - Maine Community Integration (MCI) to create and implement culturally appropriate tobacco interventions when working with New Mainers. Additionally, a social determinant of health education access and quality will be covered for middle and high school students and parents. Through research we were unable to locate any existing materials available for New Mainers for tobacco interventions. We will utilize one approach with two different audiences to reduce tobacco use in Androscoggin County over the next two years by addressing the New Mainer populations, which are disproportionately impacted by tobacco.
