About This Grant:
We will provide direct transportation services to cancer patients in our service area who have no, or severely limited, access to transportation and are not eligible for MaineCare subsidized transportation. Patients can be referred to this program by any oncology staff, social worker, or patient navigator in any facility treating patients who reside in our region. Approved patients will be offered help with transportation to qualifying cancer care appointments in one of two ways: (1) Arranged transportation through MCPT agency and/or volunteer drivers and vetted non-agency providers; (2) Limited mileage reimbursement for patients who demonstrate a financial burden associated with self-drive.
