About This Grant:
This project will implement a community centered and evidence-based Community Health Worker (CHW) strategy to increase lung cancer screening rates in the MaineHealth Stephens Hospital service area, expanding countywide as capacity allows. The CHW will provide tailored education and culturally informed messaging, barrier navigation, and support with addressing social drivers of health (SDoH) to individuals eligible for lung cancer screening. Partnerships with Western Maine Primary Care and the Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine will strengthen early detection and reduce inequities.
