About This Grant:
The Aroostook County Action Program (ACAP) is launching a community health initiative to reduce cancer risk by promoting fruit and vegetable consumption. Partnering with local grocery stores and farmers, ACAP will install educational signage highlighting cancer-fighting nutrients and provide recipes and shopping tips. To improve access, fresh produce will be available through farmers' markets and mobile units. Residents completing a brief survey on nutrition and lifestyle will receive a $100 produce voucher. This initiative combines education, access, and incentives to support healthier choices and build stronger connections between communities and local food systems.
