Expanded Enhancement of Melanoma Screening Using Dermoscopy in Rural Primary Care

This project is an expansion of MaineHealth Maine Medical Center’s Enhanced Melanoma Screening in Rural Primary Care program. Recognizing that healthcare is only as effective as it is accessible, especially in a predominantly rural state like Maine, this project creates new pathways to essential preventive services. By training primary care providers in dermoscopy at four additional locations, they aim to increase early melanoma detection and extend the program’s reach as broadly as possible across the state, improving patient outcomes and reducing late-stage cancer diagnoses.
