About This Grant:
Friends in Action’s support for cancer patients is a key component of its transportation program, ensuring clients can access essential medical services through free rides to medical appointments and cancer screenings, as well as the delivery of food and prescriptions to their homes. This grant will fund the establishment of two Satellite Transportation Coordination Centers to expand capacity in the Deer Isle/Stonington area and the Blue Hill Peninsula. These centers will focus on community outreach, volunteer recruitment, ride coordination, and assisting new clients with the registration process.
