Clinical Interventions to Promote Lifestyle and Behavior Change for Cancer Prevention

About This Grant:

This project will provide clinical resources and lifestyle interventions to address obesity-related cancer risk. It will focus on two groups: (a) low-income individuals who are overweight or living with obesity and are behind on recommended breast or colorectal cancer screenings, and (b) cancer survivors who are at risk for poorer cancer outcomes due to overweight/obesity. With Maine’s high rates of obesity and cancer, our goal is to reduce cancer risk by supporting optimal diet/physical activity that contribute to healthy weight and can reverse the metabolic effects of obesity, with all services and materials provided at no cost to patients.
