Cancer Genetic Patient Navigation - Midcoast Region

About This Grant:

Genetic risk assessment, counseling, and testing are critical to promoting cancer prevention, increasing early detection, and improving outcomes. MaineHealth’s Cancer Genetic Patient Navigation program will address the limited access to these services in Maine by providing navigation, care coordination, and access to telegenetic services for patients and their family members at genetic risk for cancer in the predominantly rural Midcoast region. The Cancer Risk and Prevention Program, which will house the navigation services, focuses on risk-based prevention, early detection, and screening efforts aimed at reducing cancer incidence, mortality, and improving treatment outcomes statewide.
