About This Grant:
The Center for Interdisciplinary Population & Health Research (CIPHR) is a division of the Maine Health Institute for Research (MHIR), devoted to advancing outcomes and health services research. MHIR is part of Maine Medical Center, flagship hospital of the MaineHealth system, the largest healthcare provider in the state of Maine.
The proposed project aims to conduct a preliminary test of messages developed by the Cancer Alcohol Task Force designed to increase public awareness of 1) the association between alcohol use and cancer, and 2) the benefits of reducing alcohol use.
Data from this project will provide necessary insight into the types of messaging that resonates and motivates the general public regarding alcohol use. Once analyzed, collaterals will be developed by the task force and shared with partners.
