About This Grant:
This project will support the Augusta Teen Center’s two-year, evidence-informed tobacco prevention and early intervention initiative serving youth in grades 6–12 across Kennebec County.
Youth will be identified in 6th grade and supported through middle school in partnership with guardians, schools, and the Teen Center, a critical period when tobacco substance use disorder often increases. Each cohort will meet monthly for group-based education focused on preventing tobacco use and supporting cessation, with the goal of reducing or eliminating tobacco use among participating youth.
