About This Grant:
Island Connections (IC) provides free transportation and essential services to seniors and people with disabilities on Mount Desert Island and surrounding areas, enhancing their independence and quality of life. This program will enable IC to provide transportation for Maine cancer patients to cancer-related appointments. As requests for off-island medical appointments increase, the program will offer gas cards to volunteers who drive cancer patients to their appointments, thereby increasing their access to care.
