About This Grant:
Rideshare for Cancer Care is a two-year pilot project to develop, implement and evaluate new transportation options for MaineHealth oncology patients receiving care in Cumberland County who lack insurance coverage or require last-minute rides. We intend to establish a sustainable partnership with a ridesharing platform (e.g. Uber Health, Lyft Concierge, Circulation Health) to reduce barriers for cancer patients with transportation insecurity. We anticipate that this pilot will enhance access to care, reduce missed appointments, improve patient satisfaction, and provide a baseline understanding of the transportation challenges facing cancer patients in Cumberland County.
