About This Grant:
A permanent Lung Screening Navigator combined with specialized lung cancer screening tracking and reporting software will help eliminate barriers to timely cancer screening, help navigate the patient through complicated healthcare systems, act as the liaison between patient and healthcare provider, with an ultimate goal of detecting lung cancer at an earlier, more treatable stage. Fulfillment of this role will support the increase in number of high risk patients screened with LDCT as well as smoking cessation rates. Many individuals in medically underserved or minority communities are at risk because of financial, communication, health care system and sociocultural barriers to care.
