About This Grant:
Coastal Family Hospice Volunteers provides volunteer support to MaineHealth Home Health and Hospice patients and their families in Knox and Lincoln counties, and at the Sussman Hospice House in Rockport, Maine. Founded in 1979, we exist because a core of caring people believed that the dying deserves companionship, their caregivers deserve respite, and no one should die, or grieve, alone. Our mission is to provide caring companions to the dying, comfort to the grieving family and friends, and educational support to our volunteers. Additionally, we offer community bereavement and caregiver support groups, where a large percentage of the people we serve have been impacted by a cancer diagnosis.
