Expanding Lung and Colorectal Cancer Screening in Rural Northern Franklin and Oxford Counties

Rangeley Health and Wellness (RHW) will implement an evidence- based cancer-fighting program to increase lung and colorectal cancer screening rates in northern Franklin County and surrounding towns in Oxford County—some of Maine’s most geographically underserved regions. By embedding screening assessments aligned with U.S. Preventive Services Task Force guidelines, along with patient navigation, referral coordination, and reminder systems across two outpatient physical therapy locations, a community fitness center, and community health worker outreach services, this project will identify eligible residents, facilitate timely screening completion, and reduce disparities related to geography, transportation, and rural isolation.
