Bridging the Gap: Early Detection and Awareness for Breast Cancer in Underserved Communities

About This Grant:

Empowered Immigrant Women Unite's project will promote breast cancer prevention and early detection among new Mainers by providing culturally tailored education, outreach, and workshops. Building on previous success with grant funds, they aim to connect an additional 30 women to breast cancer screenings with these funds. The initiative addresses barriers like language, stigma, and access, and will expand partnerships with local healthcare providers to reduce late-stage diagnoses and increase screening rates.
