Twilight 5K : Challenging Cancer in Maine, together

Team Savage Strong
Team Savage Strong, 3rd place fundraising team.  Team Savage Strong runs in memory of Dan Savage, a loving husband and father who lost his battle to cancer in 2016.

On Thursday, June 7 nearly 600 participants ran or walked in Maine Cancer Foundation's 9th Annual Twilight 5k.  Despite the wind, you couldn't keep the smiles off the faces of the men, women and kids who were all there to do their part to challenge cancer in Maine.  100% of the proceeds raised goes back into the most promising and effective cancer fighting programs in your communities.  The money raised will increase prevention efforts, to stop cancer before it starts, increase screening, to detect cancer early when it is more treatable and beatable, and increase the access to high quality care for all Mainers, regardless of income or geography.

The night would not have been possible without our tremendous team of 50 volunteers!  The post-race festivities included dancing to the fabulous Jim Ciampi Band, and participants enjoyed delicious Otto PizzaShipyard Brewing Company Beer and Capt'n Eli's Rootbeer.

Thank you to all the participants, donors, volunteers, spectators and generous sponsors who make this event possible.  Together, we are changing the story of cancer in Maine.
