About This Grant:
This project addresses e-cigarette and tobacco use among youth and immigrant families through a two-part approach. The first part includes programs at Westbrook High School, engaging students in a youth leadership group to reduce e-cigarette use. The second part supports Arabic-speaking families with culturally tailored education, outreach, and additional resources. Research shows that multi-strategy approaches are most effective in reducing tobacco use. This focused initiative will: 1) educate students and families, 2) provide access to resources and cessation support, and 3) promote mental health through increased social connection.
