About This Grant:
The Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care (HACCC), established in 2007, is located in Maine's capital city of Augusta, and serves approximately 12 percent of Maine's cancer population. Services include oncology, hematology, psychosocial care, an open-access clinic, palliative care programs, clinical trials and target therapies, prevention, screening, and education. With a goal of providing comprehensive cancer services close to home, the cancer center serves patients living in all 16 Maine counties, with the majority of patients living in Kennebec County. Funding from this grant will be used to provide transportation and lodging support to eligible patients of MaineGeneral's HACCC.
