Aysha joined Maine Cancer Foundation in the spring of 2015 as the Foundation’s Program Officer. In her current role, Aysha develops the Foundation's overall giving strategy as well as overseeing the Foundation’s grantmaking process. In addition to managing the grants program at Maine Cancer Foundation, Aysha provides leadership for the Foundation’s membership and Collective Impact initiative.
Since moving to Maine in 2004, Aysha’s work has focused on low income, uninsured Maine residents as well as cancer patients in need of cancer screening tests and treatment. In her previous position at MaineHealth, Aysha managed the Center for Disease Control-funded "Maine Colorectal Cancer Control Program" for Maine’s southernmost counties. Aysha is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College, Boston University School of Public Health and the University of Southern Maine. She is also a Registered Nurse.
Aysha is a past volunteer with the Peace Corps – Ethiopia program as well as AmeriCorps – Baton Rouge. Outside of the office, Aysha can be found reading as much as possible, gardening, and chasing her three, young sons.
