Maine Cancer Foundation and Shipyard Brewing Company are thrilled to announce their 2018 event partnership, with Shipyard named as the Exclusive Beer Sponsor encompassing Maine Cancer Foundation’s signature fundraising events – the annual family-friendly Twilight 5K Walk and Run, and the 11th Annual Tri for a Cure. In joining MCF as a Hospitality Sponsor, Shipyard has made its most generous commitment to date to MCF’s work across Maine to reduce the burden of cancer.
“My younger sister, Candy, fought breast cancer for 9 years,” says Shipyard Founder and Owner, Fred Forsley. “It is my belief that had she reacted to the lumps in her breast sooner, she would be alive today. We hope that by supporting the Maine Cancer Foundation, we can help make a difference.”
Through the sponsorship agreement, Shipyard will make a financial contribution to MCF through the Candance Cares Foundation and will donate a variety of Shipyard Beers and Capt’n Ely’s Root Beer for the athletes participating in MCF’s summer fundraising events. In addition, Shipyard will host the annual VIP party thanking volunteers, sponsors, and top fundraisers of the events.
