Transport to Care

Community Concepts is a Community Action program serving residents of Androscoggin, Franklin, and Oxford Counties in Maine. The purpose of this initiative is to provide transportation to and from cancer treatment and support services for patients that are unable to find any alternative transportation services. Community Concepts’ transportation program utilizes 375+ volunteer drivers and eight agency vans to transport clients to medical services, schools, counseling, and day services. This grant will be used to pay $.41 per mile reimbursement to cover fuel and wear and tear on the volunteers’ vehicles directly involved with cancer patients’ transportation.
