Heather joined Maine Cancer Foundation in September 2016 as Program Manager overseeing Maine’s Impact Cancer Network, a collective impact initiative. In her role she works throughout Maine engaging communities to develop and move toward a shared agenda for improving cancer care and reducing the burden of cancer across the state.
Prior to joining MCF, Heather was Program Coordinator with The Opportunity Alliance’s Public Health Program. She worked with stakeholders and local coalitions to reduce youth substance abuse through education, technical assistance, and resource development. Heather also has experience working with communities to promote active transportation in K-12 education and in payment and system reform in health care. Heather has a B.A. in Political Science and Policy Studies from Syracuse University and received her Master of Public Health from the George Washington University.
Heather is from away, but has called Maine home for the past three years. Before coming to Maine, she lived in Boston and Washington, DC and grew up in Central New York. When not working, you can find Heather running, biking, or hiking and most recently, taking care of her new puppy.
