Maine Cancer Foundation Honored at The Jackson Laboratory
Bar Harbor, Maine. Maine Cancer Foundation was honored at the 85th Annual Discovery Days dinner and presented with the "Champion" Award, in recognition of the more than $1.8 million in grants provided to researchers at The Jackson Laboratory.
More than 24 individual grants, ranging from $50,000 - $200,000 have been distributed to JAX scientists for a variety of studies including research into the origins and treatments of brain, breast, lung and ovarian cancers, as well as leukemia and lymphoma.
The Foundation's largest grant to a JAX researcher so far was awarded in 2013 to Dr. Carol Bult in support of the Maine Triple Negative Breast Cancer Project.
