Common Journey | Support for Women with Cancer

This program is a support program to meet the survivorship needs of women with breast cancer in Mid-coast Maine, and to help it expand to include women with other types of cancer, who are not otherwise served in our area. Access to a support group is critical to meeting women's survivorship needs: pyscological needs that are often overshadowed by the intensity of clinical treatment for cancer. Many international studies have suggested that there increased survival and imporved quality of life for those involved in support groups.

This grant helps pay the costs of meeting facilitation and meals for one year while the Picker Family Resource Center provides in-kind support.
