Clinical Trials Program Education and Enhancement
Mercy Hospital’s Clinical Trial Program serves as an important vehicle for cancer patients within the community to have coordinated cancer care and access to new cancer treatment options through enrollment in clinical trials without the need for travel and separation from their family and community of support. The clinical trial program at Mercy Hospital offers residents of Portland and Southern Maine a valuable alternative to access to state-of-the-art cancer treatment through participation in Phase II and Phase III clinical trials we have identified the need to strengthen the infrastructure necessary to conduct clinical trials and seek additional education and training for the clinical research trial nurses in order to optimally support the patients and program.
