Cancer Patients Transportation Program

The purpose of this grant award is to continue, maintain and expand The Cancer Patients Transportation Program transportation services for cancer patients to and from medical appointments, given that frequently such patients require lengthy, multiple and/or daily treatments over several weeks.

The client base includes citizens in need of screenings, diagnoses or treatment services who are either to infirm, ill or impoverished and are without any other transportation alternatives.  Funds are used exclusively to reimburse our volunteer drivers for the use of their personal vehicles (fuel, wear & tear) at a current rate of 43 cents per mile.  The drivers volunteer their time.
