Who was Mary Kerry Libby?
Mary Kerry Libby was well known for her friendly smile, gracious charm and kindness. A much-loved mother, wife, sister, daughter and friend, Mary lost her courageous battle with Burkitt’s Lymphoma on March 7, 1997 at the age of 44. The first Mary’s Walk was held on the Sunday before St. Patrick’s Day in March 1999.
How many people attend Mary's Walk?
The event has grown every year, and is now the biggest cancer walk in Maine. In 2012, Mary's Walk saw more than 3,000 registered participants join together, raising approximately $250,000.
How much does it cost to participate?
Walking requires at $20 registration fee.
Running requires a $27.50 registration fee.
Do I have to fundraise?
No. Everyone is welcome to participate, but we strongly encourage people to try fundraising. You will be surprised how easy it is to raise $50 or 100 dollars just by asking friends and family.
