Clinics

Maine Cancer Foundation's Tri for a Cure triathlon has a high percentage  of participants that are first-time triathletes. In the months leading up to this all women's race, we field many questions in regards to preparing properly for a triathlon, from getting started with training to nutrition on race day.

In response to your questions and feedback, Tri for a Cure's Race Director, with help from area experts, has put together a comprehensive program combining information, hands-on experience and on-course training that will give you the knowledge you need to properly prepare your mind and body for this incredible experience.

Most clinics sell out, so please register early!

Swimming Clinics:

There will be four on-course swim clinics held at SMCC. Open water swim expert, Doug Welling from Maine Running Academy & the Sustainable Athlete, will discuss water safety, navigation and provide important swimming tips before sending waves of women into the water for a swim around the course. Trainers, the race director, and volunteers will be available following the swim to answer any questions and concerns. These clinics are offered to provide women with the chance to experience an ocean swim with a group, as it will be in the race. This is a good opportunity to practice with your wetsuit and get comfortable with the cool water temperature. We will have “SWIM ANGELS” available for those who need them. Our swimming clinics are presented by sheJAMS and The Sustainable Athlete.
