The Effort Is Under Way...

An exciting effort is underway to create a new Maine speciality license plate. Maine LD 775 “An Act to Create a Special License Plate to Support Breast Cancer Services” has been introduced in the Maine State Legislature. The proposed beneficiaries of this effort will be split equally three ways between: The Maine Breast Cancer Coalition for their Support Service Fund; the Maine Cancer Foundation for their Woman’s Cancer Research Fund; Maine Breast and Cervical Health Program for their mammogram fund. This effort has received support and endorsement from the Breast Health Cooperative, which includes these organizations plus the American Cancer Society and the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Maine Affiliate.

There is a formal legislative process that we must go through to obtain approval of our specialty plate. Our next step is to obtain reservations from 2,000 individuals along with a check of $20, which will guarantee you a plate when they become available.
